Haines moved to Hong Kong from Vancouver with his family more than 20 years ago. He graduated from the University of British Columbia with a major in Food Science. Currently he serves as the Vice President of a local food company, responsible for system management, quality, operations, and human resources.
He came to the Lord in high school and was baptized in 1995. He has studied theology at Regent College, and held various ministry positions at both local church and parachurch organizations. In 2006, he responded to God's calling and became one of the founding members of KEC.
Since KEC was started, Haines has served in various ministry positions, including worship leader, OIKOS leader, treasurer and deacon.
Haines lives in Richmond with his wife, Joyce, and they have a daughter.
